latest info: we visited the Greyhound on Wednesday 4 March 2009 - the pub was still open and good but we understand now has planning permission for those flats. Bugger.

The pub has a new landlord who is very keen on making the pub a good Real Ale pub. Both the beers he had on were in excellent form, the pints were full (without having to ask for a top up) and a mere £2.20 a pint.

The pub is under threat of closure from the owner - a property developer - and the subject of a campaign by CAMRA and local politicians to save it. You'll never guess why they want to close it. Could it be to do something other than turn it into flat^H^H^H^luxury executive apartments? Of course not.
