The Ram in Woodchester is a bit of a gem. It's a quaint old pub with a roaring fire in a little village near Stroud. The last part of the drive to get there is a little amusing - you have to turn round a blind hairpin while driving up one hell of a steep slope.

The beer collection was really rather impressive - six beers are usually on offer, mostly from local breweries such as Cotswold Spring or the Stroud Brewery. Every beer I tried was in excellent condition.

There was a big blackboard showing a menu made up of wholesome fare, which looked good. Haven't tried eating in this pub yet but it's just a matter of time before I do.

Really good pub - try it!
