ABV: 4.5%

OG: 1043.5

Colour: Bright Gold

Style: A wheat beer very much in the modern English style – served bright and top fermented. The recipe uses a small amount of fresh lemon to compliment the citrussy flavours produced by the wheat malt. Each of the Hops used, Goldings, Saaz and Cascade add fresh lemony flavours to the brew.

History: Originally Salopian was renowned (notorious?) for producing some fairly outlandish beer, usually brewed with wheat and fruit flavoured. Most of these were surprisingly well received, but mainly in speciality outlets or in bottles. Lemon Dream was devised to be far more subtle – basically a slightly lagery, lightly bittered beer with a hint of lemon. We felt that this would appeal to a broader market and this has definitely been the case, with many ‘traditional’ Pubs running the beer as a regular through the spring and summer. It has found favour at competitions too, winning an award at CAMRA West Midlands 4 years on the bounce as well as at SIBA West Midlands too
